Workplace Hidden Opportunities Opening Announcement

winnie-th-poohYou can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.
A.A. Milne

The first step is to invent a thing worth making, a story worth telling, a contribution worth talking about.
The second step is to design and build it in a way that people will actually benefit from and care about.
The third one is the one everyone gets all excited about. This is the step where you tell the story to the right people in the right way.
The last step is so often overlooked: The part where you show up, regularly, consistently and generously, for years and years, to organize and lead and build confidence in the change you seek to make.

To W100™ Honorees, WHO500™ Candidates, and potential CREW and CREW Passive Members,

Workplace Hidden Opportunities (aka HiddenOpps and WHO) Opens today, Sunday 9.18.16.

Please ponder for just a moment a few of our favorite platforms: Wikipedia; LinkedIn; YouTube; Pinterest; Facebook; and your favorite restaurants (to name just a few). Each of these filters a world view through the eyes of their offerings and network. None are intended for a single sitting. These are places to be accessed as needs and wants arise. Our goal is that HiddenOpps will grow into that sort of resource for aficionados of the workplace and corporate real estate. Condensing the vast array of subject matter it is a daunting but not impossible task. Will and Ariel Durant’s The Story of Civilization is my epitome.

HiddenOpps has an enormous amount of content in the process of being migrated to this site. That will be enhanced with more relevant and timely insights you and your colleagues have to share. Kudos to Jimmy Wales for his vision and persistence with Wikipedia. For those who grew up in the World Book and Britannica encyclopedia days his notion seemed laughable.

For now here is my best shot at what HiddenOpps is in the fewest words possible.

HiddenOpps Circles of InfluenceHiddenOpps is a platform about and for people interested in the global workplace and corporate real estate. It examines its ecosystem, component costs of real estate, industry segments, technology, performance, and Fortune 500 companies; each through the eyes and influence of the members of the network. Hopefully the Table of Contents and website category navigation reflect this filtering of subject matter.

Not unlike your other business and social media platforms HiddenOpps cannot craft  marquee message(s). It does filter your specific areas of expertise to audiences with a current appetite for your message.

HiddenOpps registration forms are constructed to generate a specific workplace/corporate real estate profile for you and your company. You can edit and update this information at will to reflect your current initiatives, invitations and offerings. Leveraging your existing messaging on LinkedIn, your website and other platforms eliminates the need for redundant form filling. Knowing that HiddenOpps audiences have already opted-in for your subject matter interest’s cuts through the clutter.

Please forgive and let me know about any glitches you encounter during these first experiences in navigation. Most of all welcome to Workplace Hidden Opportunities!
